We all know that good data is key to a journal’s success. With intuitive and journal-specific data, Wiley Journal Insights helps you build effective strategic plans and track progress. Here are our top 3 tips on how:

1. Enhance your journal’s growth strategy
Commissioning content (like special issues) is a brilliant way to grow your journal. Wiley Journal Insights enables you to look closely at downloads and citations across your journal, and by individual article, to help you find hot topics for special issues. You can also look at submissions and accepted papers by country, to identify regions where you want to attract more research.

2. Track the success of your journal’s referral networks
Referral networks are a great way to improve author experience and gain more content. When a journal receives a good paper, but it’s not the right fit, editors can refer it to another journal that’s more suitable. You can track the efficacy of your referral networks in Wiley Journal Insights, by looking at the number of referred papers. We're also working to add new charts, so you can see the flow of incoming and outgoing referrals – as well as the outcome of transfer recommendations. Look out for the new release later this spring!

3. Make the most of open access
Open access offers important strategic and financial opportunities for societies. Make sure you’re making the most of our transitional agreements, by tracking submissions from different countries, and how many articles have been covered by a transitional agreement. You can even see which agreement funded an open access article!

This is just the beginning; you can achieve much more with the help of Wiley Journal Insights! Contact your Wiley journal contact to get access or find out more.
