supporting-the-transition-to-open-access-with-on-demand-data

Wiley Journal Insights (WJI) is a constantly evolving resource that provides key decision-making metrics to maximize the impact of your journal. One of the most recent new features is the inclusion of reporting on open access transitional agreements. Head to the production tab to see data on articles published open access (OA) through these agreements that combine access and publishing to support the move towards open research.
Wiley’s transitional agreements, the number of which have grown rapidly since our landmark partnership with Projekt DEAL at the start of 2019, enable researchers at participating institutions to make their articles open access at no cost to themselves, removing a barrier to publishing OA. Your journal may experience an increase in OA articles as a result of the growing number of transitional agreements, and by enabling on-demand reporting on Wiley’s transitional agreements, WJI can help you to get the most out of your journal’s data.
The data is presented in a new responsive chart and shows:
- the total number of published OA articles funded by an institution’s Wiley Open Access Account (WOAA). WOAAs are used by institutions to manage their spend on OA APCs with Wiley.
- a breakdown of how many published OA articles were funded by an institution that’s part of a transitional agreement.
- an additional breakdown of how many published OA articles were funded by each individual transitional agreement.
WJI will continue to improve and develop. We want to know how it’s working for you, so you will see a short survey appear next time you access the platform. Please let us know what you think of the service.
