For many years Wiley has partnered with TDS Health, a US-based medical information provider, to integrate our high-quality healthcare research into their STAT!Ref online tools and reference platform.

Licensing partners like TDS Health help disseminate scholarly research published by Wiley to practitioners and students in clinical and academic settings. However, practitioners in the field sometimes need access to not only textual information, but also visual and audio content to support their work in diagnosing patient presentations, understanding complex concepts, and sourcing examples of conditions to share with patients or colleagues.

It’s easy to use keyword searches to find text results. It’s harder to find image results.

And that’s where Wiley Visual Library comes in.

Wiley Visual Library is a search interface developed in partnership with TDS Health to deliver a keyword-searchable image database of content published in Wiley’s peer-reviewed journal portfolio. By leveraging an API interface, we have built a pipeline that connects Wiley’s online content with TDS Health’s search interface and deliver image results based on keyword search.

Wiley’s portfolio offers over 2 million visual assets, including tables, charts, illustrations, graphs, videos, and more. With TDS Health, practitioners and healthcare students now have direct access to this wealth of visual content without having to wade through long, full-text articles to find images that help them interpret, share, and understand new and unusual clinical presentations, as well as re-use content for their own academic purposes.
