whats-new-in-current-protocols
What's coming soon in Current Protocols?
We’re excited to share some upcoming changes to the platform, resulting in a sleeker look and improved navigation experience for readers.
Some recent changes you may have already seen include:
- All Current Protocols content can now be browsed by ‘subjects’, and ‘techniques’ in addition to searching within distinct Current Protocols titles
- Search results can now be filtered by subject and technique
- “Topics” have been renamed to “Collections” for a more consistent experience
- The creation of distinct entries for each collection, including “first published” and “last updated” dates
- The ability to host and search for Virtual Issue Collections at Current Protocols title-level, including descriptive summaries
Upcoming changes include:
- Small changes to Current Protocols title-level pages including moving title descriptions further down the page
- Simpler browsing for on-demand and upcoming Current Protocols events
These changes will not disrupt access for Current Protocols users.
Key changes for librarians:
These enhancements do mean some minor changes to the technical set up for Current Protocols:
- Self-hosted EZproxy libraries should make sure the lines HJ currentprotocols.onlinelibrary.wiley.com and HJ https://currentprotocols.onlinelibrary.wiley.com are included in their stanzas.
- Knowledgebases and link resolvers have been made aware of the title consolidation. The new title, Current Protocols, contains protocols across all subjects from 2021 onwards.
- Individual titles will no longer be reflected in the journal COUNTER reports. Usage statistics will be consolidated into a single title, called Current Protocols (ISSN: 2691-1299).
