About the Author

Gerry McKenna is a Clinical Reader and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Centre for Public Health, Queen’s University Belfast, UK and an Adjunct Professor at University College Cork, Ireland. He is the current President of the Geriatric Oral Research Group within the International Association for Dental Research and the former president of the European College of Gerodontology. He is a specialist clinician in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics.

Finbarr Allen is Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, and Senior Consultant Prosthodontist and Director of the National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore. He is on the editorial board of a number of scientific journals, including Gerodontology. He is a past President of the Geriatric Oral Research Group of the International Association for Dental Research and was awarded the distinguished scientist award for geriatric oral health research by the IADR.

Francis Burke is a Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, Cork University Dental School and Hospital and the Deputy Head (Academic Affairs) of the College of Medicine and Health, University College Cork, Ireland. He is a Past President of the Irish Division of the International Association for Dental Research, the British Association of Teachers of Conservative Dentistry and the British Society of Gerodontology.
