About the Author

Alejandro Anreus was born in Havana, Cuba. Came to the USA as an exile in 1970. BA in Art History from Kean College, NJ in 1984. MA and PhD in art history from the Graduate Center, CUNY, 1995 & 1997. Curator at the Jersey City Museum from 1994 through 2001. Have published articles and essays in Art Journal, Third Text, Art Nexus, Encuentro de la Cultura Cubana, Aztlán and Commonweal. Poems have been published in a variety of Spanish language literary magazines since 2000. Since 2001 I am professor of art history and Latin American/Latino Studies at William Paterson University. Since 2002 I serve on the national advisory board of the A Ver series of monographs of living Latino artists, based at the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center.
