About the Author
Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner are among the foremost leadership educators in the world. They have been listed as among the top 50 leadership educators in the nation, and The International Management Council honored them as the nation's top leadership development experts.

Kouzes and Posner are the authors of the award-winning and best-selling book, The Leadership Challenge, now in its 5th edition. They have also co-authored a number of other books on leadership including Credibility: How Leaders Gain It and Lose It, Why People Demand It, Second Edition; Encouraging the Heart and The Academic Administrator's Guide to Exemplary Leadership. Creators of the Leadership Practices Inventory, they also developed the Student Leadership Practices Inventory (Student LPI), the only instrument specifically focused on assessing leadership behaviors in high school and college students. 

Jim Kouzes is an executive fellow at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University.

Barry Posner is professor of leadership at Santa Clara University (Silicon Valley, California), where he has received numerous teaching and innovation awards and served as dean of the Leavey School of Business for 12 years (1996-2009).
