Description

The book that forever transformed how we view the diversity of life

We have all heard of the theory of evolution. But how did it come about and what exactly does it mean?

In December 1831, Charles Darwin embarked on an expedition to collect evidence from the Galapagos Islands and other locations, during which he speculated that species evolve over generations through a process he called natural selection. In 1859, Darwin published On the Origin of Species, a work of scientific literature viewed as the foundation of evolutionary biology.

Featuring an Introduction from Darwin scholar Dr John van Wyhe, this deluxe Classics edition shines new light on one of science's most significant contributions to our understanding of the diversity of life.

On the Origin of Species: The Science Classic is a must-have volume for anyone interested in science, the natural world and the grandeur of life.
