About the Author
Mike Edmunds, based at Oxford University, is Research Director of the Oxford Centre for Water Research and formerly research geochemist with the British Geological Survey. He has worked extensively on groundwater quality in UK and overseas and has over 200 scientific publications.

Paul Shand is a Landscape Geochemist with CSIRO in Adelaide, Australia and Program Leader for research into environmental applications of regolith science for the Australian Commonwealth Research Council for Landscape Environments and Mineral Exploration Program. He was formerly a Principal Hydrogeochemist with the British Geological Survey and has worked extensively in the UK and abroad on a wide range of hydrogeochemistry and water quality issues.
