About the Author
About the Author Raj Pandya worked in the Systems Engineering Division of Bell-Northern Research and Nortel Networks for over 20 years. His research activities during this period included teletraffic modeling of telecommunication systems and networks, mobile network modeling and performance, and Personal Communication Services. Dr. Pandya is a consultant on mobile communications, with primary focus on Network Standards for IMT-2000, the international standard for the next generation mobile communications system specified by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). He is chairman of Working Party 3 in the ITU-T Study Group 11 responsible for developing signal requirements for IMT-2000. He is also the program manager for IMT-2000 network related studies in ITU-T.
