Waldemar Adam received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and retired as a professor at the University of Würzburg in 2002. Presently he is emeritus professor at the University of Puerto Rico. His research interests include high-energy molecules, chemi- and bioluminescence, photochemistry, laser chemistry, cyclic peroxides, singlet oxygen, oxygen transfer, azoalkanes, diradicals, cycloadditions, and biomedical applications. In these diverse areas he has contributed 1000 publications.
